How to donate a building

Donating a building can take as little as 3-6 weeks from start to finish.

We deal with all the necessary paperwork and the mailing, at no cost to you, saving you time and hassle, while ensuring maximum tax benefits.

What your building donation experience will look like:

  • Fill out a form – Tell us about your building including all the necessary details we need such as your address, property type, and square footage.
  • Our expert team reviews each building donating request thoroughly, including title search, environmental violations, and tax history, to determine if our charity can accept your property.
  • Once accepted, we send you the closing documents to sign and return to us.
  • We close the building donation and you just leave the rest to us as we transfer the deed, notify all relevant authorities, and take over all other building maintenance responsibilities, sending you a tax-deductible receipt.

Types of accepted residential buildings you can donate

There are 2 types of buildings you can donate for residential purposes.

Condos (including single apartments which we will discuss here) and multi-family.

Condo building donation

Whether it is a condo you used to use for vacation or the building your grandparents left you, condos can require a large amount of upkeep as well as other fees associated depending on the areas they are in.

Donation takes the hassle of the selling process.

Donating a building also takes away any responsibilities associated with the condo management.

We also accept condos with tenets that are presently renting.

Here is an example of a condo building we accepted recently:

1100 Lovering Ave Unit 100 Wilmington

Multi-family building donation

Multi-family residential buildings can be difficult properties to sell and can incur massive expenses in regards to maintenance and utilities.

In donating your property, you immediately eliminate any fees or taxes, receive a tax deduction, and the responsibility of the building becomes ours.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why would anyone donate a building?

As surprising as it may seem, sometimes a donation is a better option for people than selling. Dealing with selling costs, property tax, other forms of taxes and responsibilities make a donation the better option. When you donate a property you receive about the same value as selling it back in taxes.
